What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is the use of a Scalpel to remove excess dead skin and also excess fine and course facial hair in women.
It has the benefits of allowing for better product penetration and make-up application as well as stimulating collagen and elastin too.
Dermaplaning can be used as a stand-alone treatment or as a pre-treatment to skin peels, microdermabrasion or other ablative or electrical treatments.
The treatment is similar to that of a male wet shave. A scalpel is used to gently scrape the surface of the epidermis and lift away unwanted dead cells, oils and hair.
Skin is left glowing, soft and smooth for 2-4 weeks.
On this course you will learn:
- Code of practice for hygiene, sterilisation and disinfection
- Safe disposal of sharps
- Local authority licensing
- Contra indications to treatment
- Practical Treatment protocol with models
